Head of PSDA Bappeda Kaltim Discusses Inclusive Economic Development Planning in East Kalimantan Province

Samarinda (17/07/2024) - Today, Wahyu Gatut Purboyo, Head of PSDA Bappeda East Kalimantan spoke about the Economic Superhub in East Kalimantan as a new future-based economic cluster area in the Eastern region of Indonesia on the agenda for the Dissemination of the East Kalimantan Province Economic Report with the theme "Development Planning in Encouraging an Inclusive Regional Economy" at the Hotel Fugo, Samarinda.

This agenda is part of the efforts of the East Kalimantan Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office to carry out an effective advisory function.

The East Kalimantan Provincial Economic Report (LPP) includes in-depth information regarding regional economic developments and future prospects. This report will be an important basis for formulating development strategies, especially in sustainable and inclusive sectors in the province of East Kalimantan.

In his presentation, Wahyu Gatut Purboyo explained about medium and long term development planning, economic sector development strategies, development priorities to support regional economic growth, as well as strengthening inclusive sectors in East Kalimantan. In the Final Draft RPJPN for 2025-2045, East Kalimantan as an IKN economic superhub, one of which is inclusive and sustainable economic development through inter-regional interactions, downstream industry based on potential sectors, as well as the development of tourist destinations.

At present, East Kalimantan's economic growth is still driven by the mining, quarrying, construction and processing industry sectors. Economic performance in 2023 is influenced by domestic factors, such as IKN and RDPM construction, as well as global factors such as coal exports.

It is hoped that this agenda can strengthen the strategic framework for inclusive and sustainable development in East Kalimantan, support the achievement of economic equality, and increase regional competitiveness in the future.
