Minister of Home Affairs Inaugurate Governor & Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan

Samarinda, Pair of Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan Province, Dr.H. Awang Faroek Ishak and H.M Mukmin Faisyal Period tahun 2013 -2018 was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Gamawan Fauzi through the Special Plenary Meeting of the DPRD at the Multipurpose Building of the Main Stadium of East Kalimantan Palaran Samarinda, Tuesday (12/17/13).

Minister of Home Affairs Gamawan Fauzi assessed that the implementation of the inauguration of the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan took place well, solemnly and smoothly. In addition, Gamawan expressed the excitement of the enthusiasm of the community to attend the inauguration.

The remarks of the Minister of Home Affairs Gamawan Fauzi said that the inauguration of the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan became the end point of the development of the East Kalimantan government five years ago (the period 2008 - 2013) as well as the starting point for the implementation of the development of the East Kalimantan Government for the next five years (2013 - 2018 period). The implementation of development in the future is expected to get the great support of the district/city and all levels of society/stakeholders and the entrepreneur to participate in realizing a better and cleaner government.

According to him, the achievements of the development of the government of the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan for the period 2008 - 2013 were quite encouraging. Among them are some indicators to place the Human Development Index (HDI) 76.2 percent far above the national average which is only 72.7 percent. However, it is undeniable that there are still development problems that must be resolved.

"East Kalimantan PR in the future realize equitable development. Not only stuck in developing an unreachable natural resource economy. But developing other potentials, including the community economy such as SMEs to be balanced, "he said.

Targets as stated in the vision and mission of East Kalimantan development must be realized. For example, opening jobs, alleviating poverty, improving the quality of education and the launching of East Kalimantan Green must be realized.

Whereas related to the realization of a clean government, his party suggested that all elements of government utilize representatives of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) in the regions provide input in the process of making policies to avoid mistakes.

Development priorities remain road infrastructure. Among the construction of the Trans Kalimantan road, toll roads, Balang Island Bridge Roads, Electricity and Drinking Water which will be completed in the first and second years of government. Including resolving various basic problems such as the provision of employment, poverty alleviation and the development of disadvantaged areas, borders and inland.

"Agricultural development will also be done to participate in contributing national food security. We have 470 thousand hectares of land for food and rice estate that can be utilized to develop various superior agricultural commodities, "he admitted.

"Strategic inauguration as the key to the implementation of development continues that has been achieved. Because it is undeniable that many success has been achieved, in addition to programs that have not been achieved. Especially the success of the community development program, "he said while thanking the previous government for working together to build East Kalimantan.

The Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan were inaugurated based on Presidential Decree No. 137/P 2013 dated November 21 concerning Dismissal with respectful Governor and Deputy Governor for the period 2008-2013 and the appointment of the Governor and Deputy Governor for the 2013-2018 period.
