Samarinda, Tuesday 4/8/15. Socialization of the Indonesian Democratic Index (IDI) for East Kalimantan Provincial Government Apparatus in the office meeting room
Kesbangpol Agency of East Kalimantan Province, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Number 1 Samarinda was opened by the Expert Staff of the Governor of East Kalimantan for Economic Development and Finance, Budi Pranawo and then guided by Sofyan Maskur from the Editorial Board of KaltimPost Samarinda as well as presenting speakers from BPS East Kalimantan Province, Gultom and Syarif Hidayat from LIPI in the meeting room of the Kesbangpol Agency of East Kalimantan Province, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Number 1 Samarinda.
Approximately 50 people attended the meeting from SKPDs within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and SKPDs from Regency/City Governments throughout East Kalimantan.
The socialization of IDI for East Kalimantan Provincial Government Apparatus resulted in the development of the Indonesian Democracy Index for East Kalimantan Province for 2009-2013, including:
1. The East Kalimantan IDI score over the five year period (2009-2013) ranged from 66-73, which means that the quality of democratic performance in East Kalimantan is at a medium level;
2. The highest IDI score for East Kalimantan was achieved in 2010 with a score of 73.04 and the lowest IDI score was 66.37 in 2011;
3. In 2013 the IDI score in East Kalimantan only reached 68.13. When compared with the previous year (71.23), the IDI value in 2013 fell slightly but did not change the quality of achievement category;
4. The IDI's fluctuating pattern with a downward tendency for five years since 2009 indicates the immaturity of community behavior and attitudes as well as political behavior in democracy in East Kalimantan Province;
5. The 2014 IDI assessment is still under assessment by the IDI expert council team at the central level and is expected to be released around the beginning of September 2015.
