East Kalimantan Bappeda Supports Acceleration of Biodiversity Management Through Innovative Financing Strategy
Head of the Economic and Natural Resources Division of the East Kalimantan Bappeda, Wahyu Gatut Purboyo, representing the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, was a resource person at the Talkshow Workshop on Financing Strategy and Acceleration of the East Kalimantan Biodiversity Management Master Plan (RIP Kehati) at the Mercure Samarinda Hotel, Thursday (11/12/2025).
This hybrid event was organized by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas together with partners such as GIZ Indonesia and involved speakers from BPDLH, Unmul, and the private sector to discuss the integration of the Biodiversity RIP in the RPJMD and RKPD of East Kalimantan.
Wahyu Gatut's participation highlighted the benefits of integrating the Biodiversity RIP into regional planning, such as optimizing the APBD for the LH Service's priority program for biodiversity management and the Forestry Service's conservation, which targets increasing the area under management to 532,143 Ha by 2030 and the biodiversity management index reaching 0.572. This supports the vision of Kaltim Success towards a Golden Generation through environmentally friendly sustainable development, in line with RPJMN 2025-2029 and IBSAP 2025-2045.
This workshop produces a common understanding across sectors, a list of priority financing needs from the APBN-APBD to private collaborative schemes, as well as the formulation of funding options innovative for accelerating RIP Kehati Kaltim.
