East Kalimantan Bappeda Follows Up on Ministry of Home Affairs Letter, Forms Team to Accelerate Regional Economic Growth
SAMARINDA - The East Kalimantan Provincial Government through the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) held a meeting to discuss the formation of a Regional Economic Growth Acceleration Team in the East Kalimantan Bappeda Propeda meeting room on Wednesday, August 13 2025. This meeting was chaired by the Head of the PSDA Division of the East Kalimantan Bappeda, Wahyu Gatut Purboyo, and was also attended by Bank Indonesia representatives from East Kalimantan, Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda PPEPD Division, Alfino Rinaldi Arief and elements of young expert planners East Kalimantan Bappeda. This meeting is a concrete step in response to a circular letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) regarding the acceleration of regional economic growth which aims to achieve the national economic growth target of 8% in 2025-2029.
The letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs dated July 11 2025 instructed all regional governments to form a Regional Economic Growth Acceleration Team. The team will be tasked with monitoring, overseeing and reporting on the realization of the nine concrete steps that have been determined by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The nine concrete steps that must be carried out by regional governments include accelerating the realization of APBD and PMA/PMDN, realization of government infrastructure projects, controlling prices of basic commodities, as well as other efforts to increase productivity and simplify licensing. With this team, it is hoped that synergy between various agencies in East Kalimantan can be stronger to realize ambitious economic growth targets.
