East Kalimantan Governor Plans to Plant Corn

corn in Petangis Village, Batu Engau District, Paser Regency together with Paser Regent, Yusriansyah.
Corn Planting in East Kalimantan covering an area of 6,500 hectares (ha) using pure financing from the 2016 State Budget and the APBN of a change of 5,000 ha so that the total entirely reached 11,500 ha. Specifically the land in the corn planting movement in Paser Regency gets a ration of 1,000 hectares and that is in Batu Engau District covering an area of 800 hectares, the rest of 200 ha is scattered in several districts in Paser Regency. In Petangis Village, Batu Engau District, Paser Regency by the Governor of East Kalimantan at the time of the East Kalimantan Governor's work visit together with the group including the Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, Dr.Ir.H. Zairin Zain, M.Si to the southern region, which began with a working visit in the city of Balikpapan, coordinating with Kodam VI Mulawarman, followed by a working visit to see directly through the Balang Island Bridge construction ship, then continued the journey of Munuju Paser Regency.
In his remarks, the Governor of East Kalimantan stated that believing in food crop agricultural activities will be able to improve the standard of living of the community while reducing the dependence of East Kalimantan in other regions to meet the needs of regional food commodities including corn commodities because of the very large potential of East Kalimantan land and Paser Regency is expected to be a center East Kalimantan food besides several other districts that contribute to East Kalimantan food.
h. Awang Faroek hopes that the corn planting movement in East Kalimantan if carried out well even though only 80 presents are produced, East Kalimantan has been able to fulfill the needs of bias reaching 156 percent.

At the event the Governor of East Kalimantan also handed over corn seeds to farmers and 3 4-wheeled tractor units for special corn land, Combine Hanvester 30 units, 13 units of corn thresses, 2-wheeled tractors 77 units, 14 units of rice planting equipment and 13 units of water pumps.
While at the previous event a hospitality with the Paser Regent in the Paser Regent Hall, Tanah Paser (7/11/2016) The Governor of East Kalimantan also handed over 50 housing units for the remote indigenous community in Paser Regency , Submission of planned social assistance for veterans, veteran widows and for people with disabilities witnessed by Paser Regent Yusriansyah together with the ranks of officials in the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan and the Paser Regency Government.
