Samarinda, (24/02/2020). Governor of East Kalimantan Dr. Ir. Isran Noor, M.Si accompanied by Regional Secretary Ir. H. Muhammad Sa'bani, M.Sc and Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province Prof. Dr. Ir. H. M. Aswin, MM attended the Virtual Coordination Meeting of Governors throughout Indonesia in the Heart of Borneo Room at the East Kalimantan Regional Secretariat office.
On this occasion Isran submitted 9 regional project proposals including Land Acquisition and Construction of the Balang Island Bridge access road; flood management in three cities (Samarinda, Balikpapan, Bontang); Construction of the Muara Rapak Balikpapan Flyover; Dredging the Mahakam River Channel; Rebitalization and Development of PLTS in Remote Areas; Construction of the Samarinda-Bontang Toll Road; Construction of Ujoh Bilang Airport; Construction of TPI and PPI Manggar Buildings; and the Cattle Village Corporate Development Program in East Kalimantan.
And no less important strategic issue that needs to be paid attention to by the central government is the Derawan Islands which until now have not been included as a National Tourism destination, The status of the Derawan Islands as a National Tourism Destination is very much needed as an incentive to develop the environmentally based tourism sector in the Derawan Islands, especially for infrastructure. Apart from that, the thing that needs central attention is Improvement of National Roads in East Kalimantan, The only length of National Roads in East Kalimantan that are in good condition 14.68% or only 251.16 Km out of 1,710.9 Km. Where we know that all these roads have a vital role in the economic activities of the community in order to improve the welfare of the people of East Kalimantan in particular and Indonesia in general.
