SIGAP Monitoring and Evaluation by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry

Bappeda Prov. East Kalimantan, represented by the Young Expert Planner, Data and Information Analysis Sub-Coordinator, Mr. Muhammad Hamsani, ST, M.Si and staff received a visit from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia in the Context of SIGAP Monitoring and Evaluation in the GSCC room, 3rd floor, Provincial Bappeda office. East Kalimantan.

This activity was attended by the East Kutai Bappelitbang, Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Kalimantan Forest Project.

For information SIGAP KLHK (Geospatial Information System of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry) is a Thematic Geospatial Information Administration System (IGT) within the scope of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in a joint, orderly, measurable, integrated and sustainable manner and is effective in providing convenience in sharing data and IGT through access to the network while still paying attention to aspects of confidentiality and security data.

-

The SIGAP Ministry of Environment and Forestry database is used as a data source for the Forestry Information System for planning, management, implementation and control of development activities, as well as monitoring of forest areas, land cover and other activities at the national and sub-national levels.

-

In this meeting several obstacles were identified during the process of uploading data in SIGAP, namely first, the data was not uploaded perfectly because there were things that were not right in the SIGAP system. Second, BRGM experienced similar problems when uploading data to SIGAP, as well as problems with inappropriate coordinate systems.

-

It is hoped that there will be data integration collaboration with regencies/cities other than Kutim Regency in East Kalimantan, for example collaboration with the Berau Regency Government because the Berau Regency Government is very concerned about the quality of IGT. Apart from that, it is hoped that there will be a meeting to discuss the matrix of those responsible for operations and uploading data aimed at improving SIGAP and the East Kalimantan geoportal.

-

Closing this meeting, Mr. Hamsani conveyed the initiation of an award in the form of Bhumandala Etam in East Kalimantan Province to assess the quality of IGT in their respective regions. The scope of assessment will be from Regency/City to private development partners, assessment based on the BIG application, namely Simojang.
