Mahakam Ulu Regency RKPD Musrenbang 2023

Wednesday, 03/23/2022. The Head of the P2EPD Division (Mrs. Rina Juliaty) representing the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda was present virtually and was a resource person in the Development Planning Deliberation (Musrenbang) for the preparation of the Mahakam Ulu Regency RKPD for 2023. This event was opened by the Assistant for Economic Affairs of the Mahakam Ulu Regency Secretariat (representing the Regent of Mahakam Ulu), and was attended by elements of the Mahakam Ulu Regency DPRD leadership, Regional Apparatus within the Mahakam Ulu Regency Government, Agencies Vertical, Non-Governmental Institutions, Community Organizations, Community Leaders and Private Company representatives.

The Mahakam Ulu Regency RKPD Musrenbang is a further stage carried out by the Mahakam Ulu Regency Government in the context of preparing the 2023 Mahakam Ulu Regency RKPD after previously carrying out public consultation activities on the initial draft of the Mahakam Ulu Regency RKPD, in accordance with the mandate of Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 86 of 2017.

The RKPD Musrenbang aims to discuss the 2023 Mahakam Ulu Regency RKPD draft and agree on development issues, development priorities, programs/activities, indicative ceilings, indicators, performance targets, loci, and alignment of regional programs/activities with provincial development targets/priorities. Apart from that, discussions were also held on programs/activities that had been proposed at the village and sub-district musrenbang levels.

On this occasion, the Assistant for Economic Affairs of the Mahulu Regency Secretariat conveyed the direction of the Regent of Mahakam Ulu so that in preparing programs/activities, as well as targets and priorities for Mahakam Ulu Regency in 2023, several basic things could be paid attention to, including those related to the impact of development after the Covid pandemic; High levels of poverty; Increasing the quality and competitiveness of human resources; Increasing science and technology-based agro-industry; Population growth; Inequality between regions; Eradication/prevention of corruption; as well as developing village potential.

The theme of the 2023 Mahakam Ulu Regency RKPD is "Improving the Quality of Human Resources to Support Economic Growth Based on Local Wisdom". The development priorities prepared include increasing the competitiveness of human resources; Increasing the resilience of water resources, energy and environmental carrying capacity; Increasing agricultural and plantation resources so that they can encourage increased production of agricultural and plantation products; Increasing people's economic efforts; Increasing connectivity and basic infrastructure services; Improved governance and capacity of local government.

He also said that the policy direction for Mahakam Ulu Regency in 2023 needs to focus on alleviating poverty, reducing unemployment, reducing income inequality, providing basic infrastructure and maintaining the quality of the environment.

Mrs Rina also reminded that Mahakam Ulu Regency is still facing a number of problems, including the still high poverty rate of around 11.90% in 2021; There is still low infrastructure support in encouraging community economic activities; The still weak competitiveness of human resources is shown by the lowest HDI figure in East Kalimantan, namely 67.95.
