East Kalimantan Priority Education Development

Samarinda, 14/1/2016. The education development sector is a priority program of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, this is indicated by 1a._rapat_Mou_Pendidikan_propeda_13_jan_2016_webThere is an increase in the key indicators of success in education, including gross enrollment rates, net enrollment rates and a reduction in the number of illiterates, the availability of quality human resources is one of the factors for successful development. Improving the quality of human resources can be achieved through education. Therefore, the government continues to strive to improve the quality of education.

This was revealed during a meeting with an agenda for discussion of the MoU on Education, Follow-up to Bankeu (Financial Assistance) specific to education in 2017 as well as Discussion on Personnel, Financing Equipment and Documents (P3D) in the Education Sector, led by Head of Human Resources Development, Drs. H. Hariyo Santoso representing the Assistant for People's Welfare in the Propeda room, floor II of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Jl. Kusuma Bangsa Samarinda, 13/1/2016.

Approximately 40 people attended the meeting from Regional Work Units (SKPD) within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government including Bappeda, BKD, BPS Kaltim, Inspectorate, Education Service, Bandiklat, Bureau Bangda, Organization Bureau, Border Bureau for Regional Arrangement and Cooperation, Finance Bureau, Legal Bureau, Equipment Bureau.

In addition to discussing the 2017 education budget, it also discusses the transition of priority responsibilities for civil servants, teaching staff/educators/teachers and including supervisory staff focusing on secondary education, special education and non-special education as many as 4,856 people from the City Regency Governments throughout East Kalimantan (data without Mahulu Regency) to the East Kalimantan Provincial Government in accordance with the policy transfer from BKN effective January 1 2017 with the issuance of a Decree on December 31 2015. This was conveyed by the Regional Civil Service Agency of East Kalimantan Province. Meanwhile, data on 3,532 non-PNS teaching staff/teachers needs to be reviewed according to needs.
