District/City e-Government Ranking
Samarinda, 10/9/15. Head of the East Kalimantan Province Communication and Information Service, Abdullah Sani, SH., M.Hum opened the mapping event for Information and Technology (ICT) implementation at
Government agencies and encourage the acceleration of Indonesian e-Government in the framework of e-Government ranking of Regencies/Cities throughout East Kalimantan in the Etam Kaltim Information Warung (WIEK) meeting room at the East Kalimantan Province Diskominfo office, Jl. Basuki Rahmad No. 41 Samarinda. Meeting participants came from Regency/City Governments throughout East Kalimantan and SKPD within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government as invitees.
Abdulah Sani said that the main task of the East Kalimantan Province Diskominfo was to map the implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Government Agencies and Encourage the Acceleration of Indonesian e-Government in Kalimantan Province East.
Assessment of the e-Government ranking of Regencies/Cities throughout East Kalimantan in the context of the 2016 East Kalimantan Province Anniversary.
In order to improve information and communication services to the community, it is hoped that Regency/City Governments can form their own Regency/City Communication and Information Services throughout East Kalimantan.
Furthermore, the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Diskominfo said that the Central Government is strongly encouraging regional development programs from the East Kalimantan Diskominfo in order to improve information and communication services to the public.
The East Kalimantan Provincial Government is very concerned about public information and communication services by building several telecommunications towers by the East Kalimantan Provincial Government in collaboration with Regency/City Governments throughout East Kalimantan and the private sector with the role of land and human resources being the responsibility of the Regency/City Government, while the development of information technology is the responsibility of the private sector namely Telkomsel.
Regency/City Governments throughout East Kalimantan and SKPDs within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government are expected to pay attention to their respective website networks in the context of public information services.
Information and Communication Technology Balikpapan City is already using the LTE-based fourth generation (4G) broadband network at the 1,800 Mhz frequency from the telecommunications company Indosat and the city of Samarinda will soon follow.
Follow-up meeting of participants from Regencies/Cities regarding the ranking of Indonesian e-Government (PeGi) at the Regency/City level throughout East Kalimantan in 2015 in Bogor City on September 17 2015. For the East Kalimantan Province SKPD representing the meeting was the Communication and Information Service.
