Socialization of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Facilitation
Samarinda, 14 June 2021, 09.30 WITA. Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, represented by the Government and Human Development sector, attended the socialization activity on the facilitation of Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) which took place in the meeting room of the Regional Research and Development Agency (Balitbangda) of East Kalimantan Province.
The event was opened by the Secretary of Balitbangda East Kalimantan Province and attended by related agencies and student representatives from several universities in Samarinda. The resource persons who attended this event were representatives of the Legal Services and Human Rights Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Dra. Sri Lastani, ST, M.IPL and representative from the Indonesian Industrial Research and Standardization Center/researcher, Suroto Hadi Saputra, M.P.
Dra. Sri Lastani, ST, M.IPL said in his presentation that Intellectual Property (KI) plays a very important role in supporting the nation's economic development. Intellectual property needs to be protected to encourage IP producers to continue working; creating a conducive environment for work and business with healthy competition; assist in developing business; and used as an important asset for the business being built.
Furthermore, Suroto Hadi Saputra, M.P added in the next presentation session that it was necessary to widely disseminate information about the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to the wider community, especially business actors. The public can obtain information and consultation regarding IPR (especially related to brands and copyright) at the IPR center which is a special institution that deals with this matter.
