7 regions were developed based on clusters
Samarinda, 16/10/12. East Kalimantan Province, under the leadership of the Governor of Kalimantan, DR.H. Awang Faroek Ishak and Deputy Governor
Kalimantan Timur, Drs. H. Farid Wadjdy continues to improve in order to develop the region based on a cluster approach.
There are 7 (seven) regions to be developed based on a cluster approach, including 1. Balipapan Kariangau Industrial Zone; 2. Samarinda Industrial and Services Zone; 3. Bontang Oil, Gas & Condensate Industrial Zone; 4. Maloy Int'l Port and Oleochemical Industrial Zone; 5. Derawan Island Tourism Industrial Zone; 6. Delta Kayan Bulungan Food Estate; 7. Green Belt Industrial Park.
This was stated by the Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda, DR.Ir.H. Rusmadi.MS while chairing a meeting on the development of the East Kalimantan industrial cluster in the Propeda Meeting room on the second floor of the Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, Jln. Kusuma Bangsa Number 2 Samarinda, accompanied by DR. Eric Rolf Hansen, President Economic Transformations Group (ETG), Inc.
Approximately forty-five people attended the meeting from related SKPDs within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and SKPDs within the Regency/City Government and also invited parties outside the government, namely the East Kalimantan Provincial Food Estate Acceleration Team; East Kalimantan Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry; GAPKI East Kalimantan Province; Solaria Group; PT. Miwon; and PT. Sang Hyang Seri. Meanwhile, a special participant from the East Kalimantan Bappeda, Head of Economics, Ir. Ujang Rachmad, M.Si; Head of Subdivision for Natural Resources and Environment, H. Antoni Safarisa, ST., MM and Head of Subdivision for Business Development, Tourism & Culture, Saur Parsauran, S.Pi., MEMD and East Kalimantan Bappeda staff.
This meeting was held in preparation for the implementation of East Kalimantan Province as a pilot project for Industrial Cluster Development, which is a collaboration with the USA, so a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held with the aim of getting a complete picture of the Industrial Cluster Development plan in East Kalimantan from various parties directly involved in it.
