Jakarta, 15/4/13. East Kalimantan Provincial Government as host for the Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang) peta_borneo_2013Regional Kalimantan 2013 Cooperation Forum Revitalization Acceleration of Development Kalimantan Regional (FKRP2RK) on 17/4/13 at the Redtop Hotel Meeting Room, Jl. Pacenongan Number 72 Jakarta carried out various preparations for the implementation of the Kalimantan Regional Musrenbang.

The Kalimantan Regional Musrenbang was attended by 4 Provinces throughout Kalimantan totaling approximately 500 people, consisting of Governors, Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, Regents/Mayors, Regional Secretaries, DPR RI Members, Kalimantan Electoral DPD, DPRD, University Chancellors, Bappeda, related SKPDs throughout Kalimantan.

The Kalimantan Regional Development Acceleration Revitalization Cooperation Forum (FKRP2RK) was formed and established as a manifestation of the responsibility and concern of the Governor of Kalimantan for the people of Kalimantan. In its implementation, FKRP2RK actively carries out coordination/working meetings between provincial governments and holds audiences at strategic ministries every year.

This Musrenbang is the first year of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. In accordance with the Forum's agreement, every two (2) years the FKRP2RK Coordinator will be handed over. In the 2013-2014 period the FKRP2RK Coordinator will be handed over from the Governor of South Kalimantan as the FKRP2RK Coordinator for 2011-2012 to the Governor of East Kalimantan who will assume the duties as Forum Coordinator in the 2013-2014 period.

The 2013 Musrenbang Forum for Cooperation on Revitalization and Acceleration of Regional Development in Kalimantan (FKRP2RK) is intended to accelerate progress and synergize development programs/activities of Ministries/Institutions and Provincial Governments in Kalimantan in the fields of infrastructure (connectivity) and energy on Kalimantan Island.

Based on work evaluations from previous years and for work effectiveness and efficiency, in 2013 FKRP2RK carried a more specific theme regarding the main problems of Kalimantan Island, namely "Accelerating the Completion of Connectivity and Energy Fulfillment of Kalimantan Island"

Sub Theme: CONNECTIVITY includes, among other things: Kalimantan Cross Roads, bridges, ports and airports which support growth centers, support access to outlets and strategic regional centers on Kalimantan Island.

The ENERGY sub-theme includes: Fulfillment of electricity and fuel on the island of Kalimantan. Fulfilling energy on the island of Kalimantan is something that is very urgent considering that electricity and fuel are basic needs of society which have the potential to trigger social insecurity. Accelerating the Completion of Connectivity and Energy Fulfillment on the Island of Kalimantan must be a Top Priority considering that Connectivity and Energy are the lifeblood and engine that drives development and national economic growth. The selection of this theme was carried out through quite long and intense discussions based on the crucial problems currently faced by the Regional Government.

On this occasion we also report that the Regional Musrenbang will be implemented for one (1) day with the following activities:
1. Committee report
2. Speech from the Governor of South Kalimantan as Coordinator of FKRP2RK in 2011 and 2012, as well as explaining the evaluation of FKRP2RK in 2011 and 2012.
