Audience Between Tony Blair Institute For Global Change (TBI)

Samarinda (22/02/2023), Infrastructure and Regional Sector of Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan welcomed the arrival of the Tony Blair Institute For Global Change (TBI) at the Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan

TBI is a global organization that has received a special task from the President to assist the Indonesian Government in various aspects, including the development of the Archipelago Capital City (IKN). TBI collaborated with OIKN to conduct visits to the IKN construction site and the surrounding area to get a direct picture of the project development. Another aim of TBI is to meet policy makers in the surrounding area to understand more deeply the ecosystem supporting IKN development.

Infraswil Division of Bappeda Prov. East Kalimantan expressed the perspective and policies of the Province. East Kalimantan in relocating the State Capital (IKN). The benefits of IKN for East Kalimantan and Indonesia are an increase in Real Investment and Economic Growth. Apart from that, this was also followed by an increase in employment opportunities (Balimantan Island around 10.5% and National around 1.0%) and an increase in population of around 1.5 million people consisting of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary; POLRI/TNI; Family Members and Economic Actors.

With the transfer of IKN, Prov. East Kalimantan hopes that there will be an improvement in the quality of education, health and environment in East Kalimantan; Sustainable Economic Business Fields in Prov. East Kalimantan can continue to improve; Infrastructure in East Kalimantan is getting better and the people of East Kalimantan are getting decent job opportunities both during construction and when IKN is operational.
