East Kalimantan Economic Policy
Samarinda, Wednesday 1/4/15. Governor of East Kalimantan, Dr.H. Awang Faroek Ishak advised the Minister of PPN/Bappenas Andrinof A. 
While the East Kalimantan Province APBD in 2016 amounted to Rp. 9,191 trillion while revenue in 2016 amounted to Rp. 8,869 trillion with details of the Regional Original Revenue of Rp. 5,334.22 billion (60%); through a balance fund of Rp. 3,168.54 billion (36%) and other legal regional income of Rp. 367.20 billion (4%).
Stages towards improving quality and sustainable economic structures with the concept of regional development and economic growth centers to accelerate the distribution of regional development with 8 strategic areas including: 1. Kariangau Industrial Estate and Buluminung Balikpapan and PPU; 2). Firm, Shipping, Industry and Services of Samarinda City; 3). Oil and Gas -Based Industrial Estate Bontang City; 4). Special Economic Zone Industrial Estate and International Port, Maloy (Maloy Batuta Trans Kalimantan Economic Zones); 5). Derawan Islands Tourism Industrial Estate; 6). Paser and PPU Regency Agricultural Industrial Estates; 7). Kukar and Kubar Agricultural Industrial Estates; 8). Mahakam Ulu Border Strategic Areas.
