Hearing on Green Development Mainstreaming Activity Plans

Samarinda, (23/02/2021). East Kalimantan Province Bappeda received an audience visit from the East Kalimantan Regional Council for Climate Change (DDPI) in the East Kalimantan Bappeda Renja Meeting Room, Tuesday, 23/11/2021. The hearing was held in order to equalize perceptions about how to mainstream green development in the RPJMD and align it with the role of DDPI Kaltim in coordinating the implementation of climate change control. The meeting was attended by 7 people consisting of elements from the East Kalimantan DDPI, the Nusantara Nature Conservation Foundation, and the East Kalimantan Bappeda in compliance with health protocols.

The daily chairman of DDPI Kaltim, Prof. Dr. Daddy Ruhiyat, explained that currently DDPI Kaltim together with the Nusantara Nature Conservation Foundation and Jellung Consulting are currently holding a series of activities in the context of mainstreaming green development into development plan documents and raising commitment from regional leadership elements.

"Basically, the problem encountered in grounding green development commitments in development plans is that green development is not yet fully understood by stakeholders or has not become a common awareness in implementation in the field, which has an impact on community welfare," said the Daily Chair of DDPI Kaltim in an audience at the East Kalimantan Bappeda Office.

Furthermore, the expected result is the formation of the District/City Regional Leadership Learning Circle (LPUPD) platform for green development and the implementation of assistance for selected Districts/Cities in mainstreaming green development into the RPJMD.

Responding to the aims, objectives and hopes of the East Kalimantan DDPI in the hearing, the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Prof. Dr. Ir.H. M. Aswin, M.M., welcomed the joint efforts in green development which is part of sustainable and environmentally friendly development.

"In the future, we will seek meetings to discuss this together with relevant stakeholders and districts/cities specifically to discuss green development, so that there is the same thinking in sustainable and environmentally sound development and in line with the RPJMD document," said the Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda.

Also providing a response, the Head of the Economic Division of the East Kalimantan Bappeda, Saur Parsaoran T, S.Pi., MEMD., regarding the assistance that DDPI will provide for selected Regencies/Cities in mainstreaming green development into the RPJMD, it is hoped that assistance can also be provided in preparing derivatives from the RPJMD to the RENSTRA related to this matter.
