East Kalimantan Bappeda Holds JIGD Pre-Rakor, Emphasizing Cooperation Agreements and Data Standardization

Hi, fellow planners!👋

Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) East Kalimantan Province held a Pre-Meeting for the Regional Geospatial Information Network Coordination (Pre-Rakor JIGD) for Regencies/Cities throughout East Kalimantan in 2025 in the East Kalimantan Bappeda Repetada Meeting Room, Thursday (16/10). This meeting was chaired by the Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda P2EPD Division, Alfino Rinaldi Arief, and accompanied by the Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda Data and Information Analysis Team, Duma Mangalle2. The main agenda for this meeting includes discussing the substance of the implementation of the JIGD Coordination Meeting, identifying JIGD problems at the district/city level, as well as discussing the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Center for Geospatial Information Infrastructure Development (PPIIG) at Mulawarman University.

A number of critical JIGD issues in the regions were raised at the meeting, including data standardization obstacles, the lack of a Functional Mapping Surveyor Position (Jafung Surta), and the PKS process with PPIIG Unmul which is still ongoing in several areas such as Balikpapan City, Samarinda City, Paser Regency, North Penajam Paser Regency, West Kutai Regency, and East Kutai Regency. In fact, the signing of the PKS with PPIIG UNMUL is an important part of the series of JIGD Coordination Meeting activities which will be held on October 22 2025 at Pendopo Lou Bepekat, Tana Paser.

Pre-Rakor This JIGD is also preparation for Technical Guidance (Bimtek) which will be held on 23–24 October 2025 at the Kyriad Sadurengas Hotel, Paser. Bimtek material will focus on data standardization through the preparation of the General Dictionary of Geospatial Information (KUGI) and METADATA, as well as strengthening institutions and policies for the implementation of Geospatial Information (IG). These steps demonstrate the commitment of the East Kalimantan Bappeda to optimize the implementation of GI in East Kalimantan Province, in line with the mandate of Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2014 concerning the National Geospatial Information Network.
