Discussion on the Implementation of Worker Protection Through Employment Social Security in East Kalimantan Province
Head of Government and Human Development Division of East Kalimantan Bappeda, Mispoyo accompanied by Young Expert Planner, Muhammad Hamsani facilitated a discussion between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and Related Stakeholders in Samarinda City and Kutai Kartanegara Regency regarding the Implementation of Worker Protection through Employment Social Security in East Kalimantan Province, Friday (6/9).
The discussion was carried out by the Directorate of Population and Social Security of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in collaboration with J-PAL Southeast Asia and BPJS Employment in connection with the function of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in overseeing the achievement of development targets related to worker protection as mandated in Presidential Regulation No. 18 of 2020 concerning the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024.
Apart from that, the discussion was carried out as a baseline study to identify the implementation of worker protection through social security in the regions, one of which is in East Kalimantan Province as well as stakeholder elements from Samarinda City and Kutai Kartanegara Regency.
On this occasion, a death benefit of 42 million rupiah was also handed over to the families of BPJS Employment participants who had symbolically died.
