Evaluation of the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction in East Kalimantan Held by the East Kalimantan Bappeda by Involving BPKP, Related Regional Apparatus and Cross Sectors
The East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) stunting prevention and reduction (PPS) evaluation meeting was officially held in the Propeda Bappeda Meeting Room of East Kalimantan Province, Thursday (7/8). This important meeting was chaired directly by the Head of Government and Human Development (PPM) Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province, Mr. Mispoyo. This meeting is a follow-up to a letter from the East Kalimantan Province Representative of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) dated July 25 2025 regarding a similar evaluation. Various cross-sectoral elements from relevant Regional Apparatus within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and Bappeda, including BPKP representatives, were also present at this meeting.
In the meeting, Mr. Mispoyo delivered a comprehensive presentation regarding the PPS evaluation. The presentation includes data on the 2024 Stunting Prevalence Figures in East Kalimantan and 10 Regencies/Cities in East Kalimantan, as well as highlighting the National Stunting Reduction Target which has been set at 18.8%, in accordance with the Ministry of Health's SE National Stunting Prevalence Target Update. Apart from that, the results of the Performance Assessment of 8 Convergence Actions for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction in 2024 which were carried out from the end of July to the beginning of August 2025 were also discussed. The main objective of this evaluation is to ensure that efforts to Accelerate Stunting Reduction (PPS) are effective, efficient and on target at all levels, with the East Kalimantan Province Accelerated Stunting Reduction Team tasked with monitoring and evaluating the implementation of joint PPS across sectors.
Arfan Suryadi, Head of the East Kalimantan Province Representative BPKP Team, explained that this monitoring and evaluation activity for Stunting Prevention and Reduction is part of BPKP's supervisory duties which last for 15 working days, from 28 July 2025 to 15 August 2025. This evaluation covers various important aspects such as policy, institutional governance, budget planning, expenditure details, and the use of Family Data at Risk of Stunting (KRS) in each relevant Regional Apparatus within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government which is part of the East Kalimantan Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team. The hope after carrying out this evaluation activity is that efforts to accelerate stunting reduction in East Kalimantan will be more focused, measurable and achieve the national targets set, as well as ensuring that each intervention has a significant impact in efforts to reduce the prevalence of stunting.
