Berau Regency sovereign drinking water forum
Samarinda, (11/10/2020). In the context of fulfilling drinking water sector services in the province of East Kalimantan, Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province continues the coordination of the Sovereign Water Forum (Famb) for Berau Regency. This forum was carried out virtually through Video Conference and was attended by the East Kalimantan Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center, East Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda, East Kalimantan Province PUPRPERA Office, Berau Regency Baplitbang, Berau Regency PUPR Office, Governor Team for escorting development acceleration (TGUP3) East Kalimantan Province.
In general, this forum identifies several main problems in Berau such as the lack of raw water availability in the District of Derawan Islands and Maratua and the decline in the quantity and quality of the surface raw water (rivers) caused by environmental pollution, including in Tanjung Batu and Kasai, when viewed from the side of the distribution network system, the problem of the Drawa Islands and Maratua is unable to reach the overall quantity and quality of the surface water (river) caused Settlements are sporadic and far apart, and there are 3 Natural Sciences that are not functioning, namely in Labuan Cermin, Tanjung Batu and Kasai due to raw water constraints.
Kasubbid Infrastructure Keciptakaan and Bappeda Settlement of East Kalimantan Province Alfino Rinaldi Arief explained that there were several programs/activities for meeting the needs of drinking water in Berau Regency for the next few years including an increase in Sulaiman Bay Spam in Biduk-Biduk District to serve 2 villages namely Tanjung Prapat and Harapan Beach; utilize the labuan mirror spam), PLTS and safety fence; Development of SPAM Kampung Melapun in Kelay District with a capacity of 5 Lt/Dt.
