Public Consultation Forum in the process of preparing the initial draft RKPD of East Kalimantan Province in 2023
Wednesday, 01/26/2022. The Provincial Government of East Kalimantan through the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda held a Public Consultation Forum in the process of preparing the initial draft of the RKPD of East Kalimantan Province in 2023 which was held at the Novotel Balikpapan Hotel and online through the Zoom Meeting. Participants who attended the event were around 150 people and 200 participants who attended through the Zoom Meeting consisting of elements of the provincial apparatus, legislative elements, vertical agencies, Tgup3, academics, BUMD, professional associations, development partners, business world and community leaders.

The theme of RKPD of East Kalimantan Province in 2023 is "Strengthening Economic, Social and Environmental Resilience Towards the Welfare of the Community within the Sovereign East Kalimantan Framework". While the priority of the development of East Kalimantan is directed at the development of a competitive and competitive workforce; Strengthening the people's economy and community entrepreneurship; Increased productivity of the manufacturing industrial area in a sustainable manner; Strengthening exports of superior commodities that have high added value; Equitable and strengthening of connectivity and accessibility of infrastructure between regions and areas supporting IKN; and the development of bureaucratic independence for public policy in favor of regional sovereignty.

On this occasion, the Regional Secretary of the Province of East Kalimantan (Mr. HM Sa'bani) who represented the Governor of East Kalimantan opened and gave a speech. He said that this public consultation was an important agenda in the development stage of the development of East Kalimantan which served to capture aspirations, input and suggestions from all stakeholders. It was also conveyed that East Kalimantan was still faced with a number of challenges, opportunities and problems including the ratification of the State Capital Law, Covid-19, International Trade War, Green Economic Policy, Coal Export Policy from the Central Government and infrastructure conditions that are still not optimal.

Some of the speakers presented at the discussion session on this occasion include the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Prof. Dr. Ir. HM Aswin, MM; Plt. Director General of Regional Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs Regional Development, Dr. Sugeng Hariyanto; and Regional Director II of the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas, Mohammad Roudo, Ph.D. In his presentation, Prof. Aswin said that the problems of East Kalimantan could be mapped several things including the high level of poverty; high unemployment rates open; high gini index number; and the potential for decreased environmental quality. Seeing these conditions, the priority and direction of the East Kalimantan development policy (provincial and district/city) in 2023 needs to be directed at efforts to solve problems that are still faced. In addition, there were also 6 objectives and 19 development targets with various target indicators that needed to be achieved in 2023.
The implementation of the Public Consultation Forum was closed with the signing of the minutes signed by all stakeholders present.
