Public Consultation Forum Design of the RPJMD East Kalimantan RPJMD 2018 - 2023

Samarinda . The Provincial Government of East Kalimantan through the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of East Kalimantan Province held a Public Consultation Forum in the framework of the preparation of the Draft Technocratic Plan for the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) of East Kalimantan Province in 2018-2023. The forum, which was held on August 20, 2018 at the Ballroom of the Midtown Hotel Samarinda, was attended by assistants in the East Kalimantan Provincial Secretary, all regional apparatus heads in the East Kalimantan Province, Rector, Dean, Professor, Mulawarman University Academic Staff, Banking, Professional Association, NGOs, and Private in East Kalimantan, as well as compiling the vision and mission teams of the Head of Regional Head of East Kalimantan. This forum is an important agenda in capturing the aspirations, inputs, and suggestions from each element of stakeholders to obtain input in the improvement of the technocratic design of the RPJMD Document of East Kalimantan Province.

Head of Bappeda Province of East Kalimantan, Dr. Ir. H. Zairin Zain, M.Sc, in the report of the Chairperson of the Committee and his remarks said that this forum aims to obtain input and suggestions for the improvement of the RPJMD Teknocratic design of East Kalimantan Province in 2018-2023. "All forum participants are expected to provide input/suggestions accompanied by supporting data and information for the improvement of the RPJMD Teknocratic design of the East Kalimantan Province in 2018-2023 and agree on the strategic issues and issues of the development of East Kalimantan for the next 5 (five) years," he said.

PJ Secretary of East Kalimantan, Dr. Hj. Meiliana opened the Public Consultation Forum for the RPJMD Technocratic Design. In his remarks, the hope was conveyed that the forum could produce the best recommendations so that the preparation of the East Kalimantan RPJMD in the future would be better.
"I hope this forum will produce the best recommendations so that the preparation of the East Kalimantan Province RPJMD in the next five years will get better and increasingly touch the interests of the community until all the development we carry out is truly able to create welfare for the people of East Kalimantan," said Meiliana when delivering the remarks and opening the event on Monday (8/20).

In accordance with the mandate of Law Number 25 of 2004 and Permendagri Number 86 of 2017, that the preparation of the regional medium -term development plan must guide the regional long -term development plan. To note, the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) in 2018-2023 is a translation of the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) in 2005-2025 Stage IV. In the IV phase of the RPJPD, the development goal to be achieved by East Kalimantan Province is to "realize a just and prosperous society in all regions in the implementation of sustainable development".

Furthermore, the main objective of the development is planned to be achieved through the main target of development phase IV, namely:

  • Realizing the quality of independent, highly competitive human resources;
  • Realizing a reliable economic structure with the widest possible community participation;
  • Realizing an integrated and harmonious development with an economic and ecological -based regional development approach;
  • Realizing basic services for the community equally and proportionally;
  • Realizing the efficiency and effectiveness of participatory government based on law enforcement.
  • As for some of the things that became a joint agreement in the Public Consultation Forum for the 2018-2023 RPJMD Technocratic Design, namely:

  • Input/Suggestions accompanied by supporting data and information from all forum participants;
  • Design of Regional Renstra Technocratics Regional Apparatus Based on Problems, Challenges and Strategic Issues of Development in the next 5 (five) years agreed upon in the forum from all regional apparatuses;
  • The formulation of the agreement of the problem, challenges and strategic issues of development in the next 5 (five) years as outlined in the Minutes and signed by all participants. (fjr)
