Kick Off of the National Movement to Control East Kalimantan Food Inflation in 2024
Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province, Mr. Yusliando, attended the 2024 Kick Off event for the National Movement for Controlling Food Inflation in East Kalimantan at the Odah Etam Office Hall on Wednesday (27/03/2024). The event was also attended by Acting. Governor of East Kalimantan Province, Mr. Dr. Drs. Akmal Malik, M.Si and Regional Secretary, Mrs. Dra. Sri Wahyuni, M.PP..
Through his Welcoming Speech, Mr. Akmal Malik stated that GNPIP is a concrete manifestation of economic stability and social welfare. He also added that the main objective of GNPIP is strengthening coordination and collaboration between regional governments and Bank Indonesia, implementing various inter-regional cooperation programs such as digital farming, assistance with agricultural tools and machinery, downstreaming of agricultural products, and becoming a means for public awareness of the importance of food independence and sovereignty for the community. Finally, Mr. Akmal Malik advised and invited us to work hard, innovate, collaborate with high enthusiasm in GNPIP.
The next series continues, Mr. Deputy for Macroeconomic and Financial Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Dr. Ferry Irawan, S.E., M.S.E. as Keynote Speech. He conveyed several things, one of which was related to policy steps to reduce the increase in food prices (especially rice) by maintaining sufficient Government Rice Reserves (CBP) available and distributed according to needs throughout Indonesia, including accelerating import revenues in March 2024, accelerating the distribution of SPHP in Traditional Markets. Further points related to these steps that he explained were the distribution of rice food aid to 22 million KPM, intensifying the implementation of Cheap Market Operations and the Cheap Food Movement, transferring CBP to Commercial to control the price of premium types of rice, as well as determining the relaxation of the Highest Retail Price (HET) for premium rice until April 24 2024 adjusted to Rp. 1,000/kg.
