Preparation for reviewing no smoking areas in the regional apparatus of East Kalimantan Province
Samarinda, (01/10/2020). In order to improve the implementation of Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2017 concerning the East Kalimantan Provincial Health Office (KTR) held a meeting to prepare for a non-smoking area review in the East Kalimantan Provincial Apparatus Virtual through the Zoom Meeting application.
Also present in this activity of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda was represented by the Head of the Social Welfare Subdivision Andrie Asdi, SH and Staff Online in the Human Resources and Government Resources Room.
In the mandate of Law Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health states that the Regional Government is required to establish a non-smoking area.
The no-smoking area is a room or area that is stated to be prohibited for smoking or producing, selling, advertising, and/or promoting tobacco products. KTR itself includes health service facilities, teaching and learning process, places of children playing, places of worship, public transportation, workplaces, public places and other places that are under the authority of the East Kalimantan regional government.
The aim is to create a clean, healthy, comfortable, free environment from cigarette smoke, providing protection for people from the dangers of cigarette smoke, preventing novice smokers, because everyone is entitled to clean and healthy air and free from cigarette smoke, information and correct education about the dangers of cigarette smoke and smoking for health, information about KTR and KTR.
Therefore in every regional apparatus must apply KTR and convey KTR messages to everyone in their environment through posters, smoking prohibitions, announcements, and so forth.
In this meeting it was also conveyed that immediately the formation of the Trustees and Supervisor Team of each area by proposing one person to be submitted to the Health Office and determined by the Governor's Decree.
Candidates who are proposed to be a team of supervisors and supervisors from regional apparatuses must meet the provisions set, among others: not smoking, must participate
