Pre-Musrenbang of East Kalimantan Province

Samarinda, (21/04/2021). In the context of preparing the 2022 Regional Government Work Plan, the East Kalimantan Provincial Government through the Regional Development Planning Agency is holding Pre-Musrenbang activities. This activity is carried out directly at the Mercure Samarinda hotel and online via zoom meeting.

The Pre-Musrenbang was officially opened by the Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. M. Aswin, MM and was attended directly by the Head of Regional Apparatus within the East Kalimantan government, the Regency/City government, and the ranks of Heads of divisions, Heads of Environmental Sub-divisions of the Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province.

The theme of the RKPD in 2022 is “Structural Reform and Strengthening Regional Competitiveness in the Context of Welcoming IKN”

In his direction, Aswin said that this forum was intended to agree on regional development issues, regional development priorities, direction of district/city development policies, as well as agree on programs/activities and targets of design Regional Device Plan.

Aswin explained that in implementing this development priority, East Kalimantan still faces economic risks and challenges such as: recovery of global economic activity, changes in global commodity prices, success in controlling the Covid 19 pandemic, recovery of the business world. as well as limited space for regional fiscal stimulus.

"based on the results of our estimated calculations, it is estimated that the real funding capacity of East Kalimantan Province in the year 2022 will be around IDR 1.97 T, this lack of fiscal space needs to be followed up with a smart shopping strategy plan," said aswin

Aswin also conveyed several strategies for East Kalimantan's economic recovery in 2022, including efforts to accelerate downstream industry, accelerate the tourism sector, economic recovery through MSMEs and fiscal expansion as well as maintaining economic stability food.

"with this strategy, it is hoped that East Kalimantan's economic growth rate will revive again so that efforts to increase regional competitiveness in welcoming IKN can be realized," he said.
