Coordination Meeting Supporting Drug Hazard Maps (PEKA) through Geospatial Information
Head of East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Yusliando, accompanied by Head of PPEPD Division, Alfino held a coordination meeting regarding support for the Drug Hazard Map (PEKA) through Geospatial Information together with East Kalimantan BNNP, Bontang BNNK, and Bontang Bapperida in the East Kalimantan Bappeda repetada room, Wednesday (6/11).
The coordination meeting was held as a follow-up to the letter from the Head of the East Kalimantan BNNP regarding support for the Drug Hazard Map through Geospatial information.
For your information, East Kalimantan BNNP has initiated the creation of a Drug Hazard Map (PEKA) based on geospatial information. This pilot project is the result of collaboration between the Bontang BNNK and the Bontang City Bappeda, and has received full support from the Geospatial Information Agency on October 1 2024. The implementation of PEKA is considered very important in decision/policy making by the regional government regarding the P4GN program in East Kalimantan.
In the meeting, the Head of the Bontang BNNK, Lulyana, explained that PEKA contains data on the distribution of drug-prone points, enforcement data and prevention program data. These data are input by the Task Force for Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illegal Trafficking (P4GN) which has been formed at the sub-district, sub-district, city and provincial levels.
The Head of East Kalimantan Bappeda, Yusliando, expressed his support for the PEKA replication plan.
"We in the Province (Kaltim) believe that this initiation from BNN will be very helpful, especially in achieving social transformation targets. The golden generation that we want to achieve will be threatened if we are not serious in dealing with the drug problem," he said.
It was further conveyed that the importance of precise data in formulating appropriate policies, including in drug prevention.
The coordination meeting agreed on several important points, including: (1) Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province will issue a letter of support from the Governor to BNNP and all districts/cities in East Kalimantan for the implementation of PEKA.
(2) Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province will ask district/city Bappeda to include PEKA in the list of priority data for 2025.
(3) Replication of PEKA will be carried out in stages by considering the level of readiness of each district/city.
(4) Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province will facilitate the PEKA socialization process in the Regional Geospatial Information Network (JIGD) Coordination Meeting of Regencies/Cities throughout East Kalimantan which will be held on November 11 2024 in West Kutai Regency.
