Consolidation Meeting of the Poverty Alleviation Coordination Team (TKPK), Discussing Poverty Alleviation for the Next Five Years

Bappeda East Kalimantan Province held a Consolidation Meeting of the Provincial Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPK), Wednesday (3/9/2025) at the Puri Senyiur Hotel Samarinda.


The meeting was chaired by the Head of Government and Human Development (PPM), Mispoyo, and also guided by Muhammad Hamsani, Team Leader from the PPM Sector.


This meeting discussed the finalization of the Governor's Decree regarding TKPK for East Kalimantan Province, setting targets for reducing poverty for East Kalimantan for 2025–2029, as well as preparing the TKPK work agenda for five years in the future.


Based on the urgency to eradicate poverty in East Kalimantan, it is necessary to strengthen the role of TKPK up to the district/city level.


To support this step, it is necessary to optimize the verification and validation process for population data included in the indicators poverty.


Recorded from Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) and P3KE, verification results in May 2025, the number of potential poverty in East Kalimantan reached 761 thousand people, with 55 thousand people in the extreme poverty category. Meanwhile, three districts — West Kutai, Penajam Paser Utara, and Mahakam Ulu — reported no cases of extreme poverty.


In response to this, strategic policy issues were formulated to overcome poverty in East Kalimantan, including strengthening the Poverty Reduction Coordination Team at both the provincial and city levels, developing regional poverty applications based on data from field verification and validation, internalization of the 2025-2029 East Kalimantan RPJMD into the regional poverty reduction plan document (2025-2029) and also the mapping of interventions for the 2026 poverty reduction program.


In this meeting, various regional officials within the provincial government participated. East Kalimantan includes the Regional Secretariat People's Welfare Bureau, Social Service, Manpower and Transmigration Service, Public Works Spatial Planning Service, Village and Rural Area Development Service, Plantation Service, Livestock Service, Health Service, Social Welfare CSR Forum and other related regional apparatus. efforts to eradicate poverty in East Kalimantan.
