The meeting held by the Bontang City Planning, Research and Development Agency (BAPELITBANG) in the Hall of the Bontang Mayor's Office and opened by the Mayor of Bontang, Mr Basri Rase, S.IP was attended by the Bontang City Regional Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPKD) and other relevant stakeholders.

Functional Young Expert Planner, Sub-Coordinator of People's Welfare, Bappeda, East Kalimantan Province, Asfiandi Zulfiar, S.T., M.URP, who was a resource person from Bappeda Provincial. In the meeting, East Kalimantan delivered a presentation regarding the Role and Function of TKPKD in Alleviating Poverty in the Region.

In the explanation, as per Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 53 of 2020, Regency/City TKPKD has the task of coordinating policy formulation, planning, implementation and monitoring the implementation of Poverty Alleviation in their area.

It was further stated that the strategy for alleviating poverty carried out by TKPKD is through efforts to reduce the burden of expenditure and increase the capabilities and income of the poor. Other efforts made include developing and ensuring the sustainability of micro and small economic businesses as well as building synergies in poverty reduction policies and programs.
