Talking about the role of Bappeda Prov East Kalimantan Prof. Aswin explained that based on the division of coordination functions the parties were carried out in accordance with their main tasks and functions. In the formulation of regional development policies, East Kalimantan Province Bappeda stipulates that the transfer of the state capital is an important strategic issue, both in the short, medium and long term. The transfer of the capital of this country greatly affects the strategy and direction of the development policy of the Province of East Kalimantan.

In accordance with Perpres 20 of 2016, Bappenas has the function of assessment, coordinating and formulating policies in the field of national development planning, meanwhile in accordance with Pergub Number 11 of 2020 Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province has a function Implementation of the formulation of technical policies in the field of planning which is the authority of the provincial region. Discussing about economic growth, the media NNA asked whether at this time the economic growth of East Kalimantan had begun to increase along with the construction of the IKN. Responding to this, Mr. Aswin explained that currently the economic conditions of the Province of East Kalimantan (East Kalimantan) in the first quarter of 2022 experienced a growth of 1.85 percent, when compared to the same quarter the previous year (y-to-y), describing the economy of this area experience improvement. While in terms of expenditure, the component of gross domestic fixed capital formation experienced the highest growth, which was 3.51 percent.

Economic growth in the first quarter of 2022 was driven by positive performance achievements in almost all business fields, except the educational service business field that dropped 0.94 percent, then agriculture, forestry, and fisheries down 0.44 percent.
