Increase East Kalimantan Tourism
Balikpapan, 16/9/13. "The people of East Kalimantan are very hungry for entertainment, so they hope that the private sector, especially H. Yos Sutomo
as a very successful local entrepreneur, I can immediately build the tourism sector in the Lamaru beach area and I support 1000 percent to immediately build this tourism sector." Said the Governor of East Kalimantan, DR.H. Awang Faroek Ishak when delivering a speech and at the same time opening the Halal Bihalal Akbar event and thanksgiving commemorating the 68th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and also combined with the East Kalimantan Development Control Group event at Lamaru beach in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.
This event was also the idea of several East Kalimantan communities, including the East Kalimantan Inter-Community Brotherhood Communication Forum, the East Kalimantan Inter-Religious Harmony Forum, the Community Early Awareness Forum, several academics, religious leaders, community leaders, East Kalimantan businessmen, as well as Kodam VI/Mulawarman, the people of Balikpapan City and its surroundings.
The atmosphere of the event had a nuance of singular ika diversity by presenting art performances presented by sons and daughters of East Kalimantan wearing traditional Indonesian clothing, such as the Dayak, Kutai, Banjar, East Java, Central Java, West Java, South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua and other tribes.
The entertainment presented included well-known visiting artists from the capital Jakarta, Tukul Arwana and Tarsan, who received an enthusiastic welcome from the people present. Other artistic performances are very diverse, including the barongsay performance, which accompanies a group of officials and community leaders before arriving at the table of honor, then continued with performances of the Kuda Lumping art, typical Dayak dances and various other traditional arts from various regions in Indonesia.
In line with the event which featured various tribes in the archipelago, it was supported by a national aroma that could be felt from the stage setting as well as various speeches and remarks delivered by national leaders, regional leaders and East Kalimantan community figures who were asked to come up on stage to deliver their speeches.
As was done by the founder of the East Kalimantan Community Brotherhood Communication Forum, Yos Soetomo, one of East Kalimantan's well-known figures as well as a regional entrepreneur who has successfully led various companies including those in the hotel sector, tourism sector, education sector and other sectors when he asked the people present to stand up first just before he delivered his opening remarks and then he led the community to sing the song Garuda Pancasila together accompanied by local music.
Meanwhile TNI General Pramono Edhie Wibowo (retired), former Chief of Staff of the Republic of Indonesia Army, as a national leader and community figure who was also present was awarded an honorary title by the East Kalimantan Traditional Council and is considered one of the honorary citizens of this region, with a title called "Madang Lenjau" which means a leader who is brave and honest in protecting all communities.
DR.H. Awang Faroek Ishak, as Governor of East Kalimantan, had the honor of giving this title by handing over a Beluko hat and beaded scarf as a sign of this honorary title.
Apart from DR.H. Awang Faroek Ishak also accompanied the Chairman of the East Kalimantan Traditional Council, Edy Gunawan, Military Commander VI/Mulawarman, Meyjen TNI Dicky W Usman as well as several community leaders in East Kalimantan itself.
The awarding itself was the culminating activity of the grand Halal Bihalal event and thanksgiving for the 68th Proclamation Anniversary which was held at Lamaru Beach by several communities in Balikpapan. (Sukandar, S.Sos/Public Relations of Bappeda Kaltim).
