Bappeda Carry out sacrificial animal slaughter
.
Samarinda, 2 August 2020. The echo of takbir resounded accompanying the sacrificial slaughter activity which was carried out in the backyard of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda office. This activity was led by the Head of General Subdivision, Ramsyah, SE.
Unlike previous years where the Eid al-Adha celebration was attended by the extended family of the East Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda, this time the sacrifice was only attended by the sacrificial committee. This is done in order to comply with health protocols considering that the Covid-19 pandemic is still in an emergency condition.
Basically, the slaughter of sacrificial animals contains two values, namely ritual piety and social piety. Ritual piety means that by making sacrifices, we have carried out God's transcendental commands. Sacrifice is said to be a social piety because apart from being a religious ritual, sacrifice also has a humanitarian dimension.
Ramsyah said that sacrificial worship must be interpreted, not just as a ceremonial slaughter of sacrificial animals, but can also increase our solidarity and social sensitivity towards others.
