East Kalimantan BAZNAS Socializes Zakat, Infaq and Sadaqah Management at East Kalimantan Bappeda
Samarinda, (23/04/2024) - The East Kalimantan (Kaltim) National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS) held a socialization on the management of zakat, infaq and shadaqah in the Regional Police Room of the East Kalimantan Bappeda Office. This socialization discusses the importance of zakat governance and the role of zakat, infaq and shadaqah in community development.
According to Dr. H. Abdurrahman AR., M.Ap as Deputy Chair II of BAZNAS stated, "This socialization is important to increase public understanding about the governance of zakat, infaq and shadaqah. We want to ensure that the zakat collected can be used effectively to help people in need."
At the event, BAZNAS Kaltim also explained their duties and functions, which include planning, controlling, implementing and reporting responsibilities related to the management of zakat, infaq and also shadaqah.
In the regulatory context, East Kalimantan Province is the only province that has a Governor's Regulation (Pergub) regarding the amount of zakat and payment procedures, especially for ASN employees. Regulated in gubernatorial regulation no. 40 of 2022, this Gubernatorial Regulation regulates in detail the amount of zakat and payment procedures, especially for ASN employees in East Kalimantan.
Along with that, the East Kalimantan Bappeda has also formed a Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) for employees who wish to distribute their zakat. This UPZ will manage and distribute the collected zakat directly to BAZNAS, to then be used according to the targets determined by BAZNAS.
The aim of this socialization held by BAZNAS Kaltim is to increase public awareness of the importance of fulfilling zakat, infaq and shadaqah obligations and to ensure that the funds collected can be used effectively and on target.
By increasing public understanding and awareness of the importance of zakat, infaq and sadaqah, it is hoped that a society that is more caring and sharing in building togetherness can be created.
