Baznas Kaltim Socializing Zakat, Infaq and Sadaqah Governance in East Kalimantan Bappeda
Samarinda, (04/23/2024) - The East Kalimantan National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) held a socialization on zakat, infak, and shadaqah governance in the Bappeda East Kalimantan Police Office. This socialization discusses the importance of zakat governance as well as the role of zakat, infaq, and shadaqah in community development.
according to Dr. H. Abdurrahman AR., M.AP as Deputy Chair II of Baznas stated, "This socialization is important to increase community understanding of the governance of zakat, infaq, and shadaqah. We want to ensure that the zakat collected can be used effectively to help people in need."
At the event, East Kalimantan Baznas also explained their duties and functions, which included planning, control, implementation, and reporting of responsibilities related to the management of zakat, infaq, and also shadaqah.
In the context of regulation, East Kalimantan Province is the only province that has a Governor Regulation (Pergub) regarding the amount of zakat and payment procedures, especially for ASN employees. Regulated in Pergub No. 40 of 2022, this regulation regulates in detail the amount of zakat and payment procedures, especially for ASN employees in East Kalimantan.
Along with that, East Kalimantan Bappeda has also formed the zakat collection unit (UPZ) for employees who want to channel their zakat. This UPZ will manage and distribute zakat collected directly to Baznas, to then be used in accordance with the targets set by Baznas.
The purpose of the socialization held by the East Kalimantan Baznas is to increase public awareness of the importance of fulfilling zakat, infaq, and shadaqah obligations and ensuring that the funds collected can be used effectively and on target.
With the increasing understanding and awareness of the public about the importance of zakat, infaq, and shadaqah, it is expected to create a more concerned and share community in building togetherness.
