Technical Guidance on Integrating Gender Perspectives in RENJA Documents

Samarinda, 11/08/2020. The Deputy for Gender Welfare of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection held technical guidance (Bimtek) on Integrating Gender Perspectives into Provincial Government Work Plan Documents (RENJA) which was carried out virtually via the Zoom Meeting application at the workplaces of each Regional Apparatus.
Deputy for Gender Equality is a Deputy at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection who handles issues related to women's empowerment in an effort to realize gender equality and has the task of organizing policy formulation as well as coordination and synchronization of implementation.
The implementation of this Technical Guidance is in view of the establishment of the National Strategy for Accelerating the Implementation of Gender Mainstreaming (PUG) which mandates all ministries, Institutions, Provincial and Regency/City Governments to implement Gender Responsive Planning and Budgeting (PPRG).
This activity which was carried out over two days was attended by the Head of Sub. East Kalimantan Province Bappeda Program Planning Section Ir. Akhmad Huzairin and his staff virtually in the Secretariat room of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda Office.
Apart from the Provincial Bappeda, participants in this activity were also other Regional Apparatus, namely the East Kalimantan Province KP3A Service, Inspectorate, BPKAD, Community Empowerment and Village Government Service, Health Service, Education and Culture Service, Industry and Trade Department and UKM, Social Service and the National Unity and Political Agency of East Kalimantan Province with the aim of increasing the capacity of HR planners in these 10 regional apparatuses.
By integrating a gender perspective into the government's work plan, it is hoped that the activities carried out will be more effective and targeted to overcome the problem of gender gaps in development. At the time this news was published, this activity was still ongoing.
