In East Kalimantan, the implementation of the blue carbon program has been implemented by drawing up the East Kalimantan Province Coastal Area & Small Islands Zoning Plan (RZWP3K), where there are several sustainable conservation strategies based on community participation that support the Blue Carbon program, namely protecting habitats and fish populations as well as migration routes for marine biota; determine and develop marine conservation areas into core zones, limited use zones, and other zones; developing a network of conservation areas; carry out monitoring and evaluation of conservation area management; and improving coastal and aquatic environmental conservation in the form of consistent implementation of coastal and aquatic conservation areas.
