Focus Group Discussion and Submission of Pick Test Results of the RAD PD Preparation Assessment for East Kalimantan Province
Friday, 28/10/2022 Government and Human Development Sector Bappeda Provincial. East Kalimantan attended the agenda of the Focus Group Discussion and Submission of Test Results of the RAD (Regional Action Plan) Preparation of PD (Persons with Disabilities) Prov. East Kalimantan which is a series of Field Visits to the RAD Preparation Assistant for PD Prov. East Kalimantan to fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities as regulated in Law no. 8 of 206 concerning Persons with Disabilities.

The FGD presented 3 (three) resource persons, namely Bappenas; Ministry of Education and Culture and Ministry of Law and Human Rights. In Multisectoral Regional Apparatus it is necessary to encourage the preparation of guidelines for fulfilling the rights of Persons with Disabilities in various sectors, such as employment, accessibility of public services, infrastructure, etc. as well as encouraging collaboration between sectors (Department, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, Balai/Satker/UPTD) so that it is not limited to social affairs. Meanwhile, OPDis/NGO PD activities need to encourage sustainable financing schemes both in outreach and data collection as well as service operations; Encouraging training and mentoring for sustainable multi-sectoral development programs and encouraging coordination between OPDs to collaborate with the Regional Government.

Apart from that, from field visits, several agencies have understood the new PD paradigm, thus positioning PD as a group that needs to be empowered, not pitied. As with Disability Sensitive Planning and Budgeting in accordance with Minister of Home Affairs Decree No. 050-3708 and Permendagri 90/2019 are the basis for policy development initiatives targeting PD.
