60th Anniversary of East Kalimantan, Make East Kalimantan Prosperous
Samarinda, Monday 9/1/2017. Implementation of the Reception Night for the 60th Anniversary Celebration (HUT) of Kalimantan Province
East at the Samarinda Convention Hall was very simple and lively, attended by all echelon officials, IV, III, II, I along with staff from the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, NGOs, community leaders, religious leaders and community organizations. Meanwhile, the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda was attended by the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Dr.Ir.H. Zairin Zain, M.Si, Secretary of the East Kalimantan Bappeda, Drs. Sufian Agus, M.Si and all Heads of Divisions, Heads of Subdivisions and Heads of Subdivisions as well as staff within the Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province.
Furthermore, the Governor of East Kalimantan conveyed a message to all officials within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and their staff in each SKPD, all development programs of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government prioritize the interests of the people of East Kalimantan which can make the people of East Kalimantan prosperous.
Meanwhile during the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of East Kalimantan Province with the ceremony inspector for the Governor of East Kalimantan, Prof. Dr. H. Awang Faorek Ishak was attended directly by all the Regents/Mayors throughout East Kalimantan except for the Regent of Paser, the Regent of Kukar, and the Mayor of Samarinda who were not present but were attended by their representatives and Paser was represented by the Regional Secretary.
Apart from that, there were also Commander VI/Mulawarman Major General TNI Johny L Tobing, East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Safaruddin, and East Kalimantan Kajati Abdoel Kadiroen as well as DPRD Chairman Katlim H Syahrun and several other members..JPG)
In his speech the Governor of East Kalimantan stated that commemorating the 60th anniversary of East Kalimantan Province was a very important moment to introspection about better and more advanced future development plans. Quoting from several information sources, the Governor of East Kalimantan said that "The challenges we face in developing from all sides, considering both the financial, global and regional crises and national economic growth until the end of 2016 have not completely improved,".
It was further stated that budget reductions from the Center (Government) also had a direct impact on the economy. Even though it improved in the third quarter, with an increase of 0.03 percent, in the end the East Kalimantan economy experienced a contraction of 0.12 percent.
The Governor of East Kalimantan conveyed banners of success to the Regents/Mayors throughout East Kalimantan, including the City of Samarinda succeeding in achieving 6 banners of development success. Of the 6 Banners of Development Success achieved by Samarinda this year, there is 1 which is considered quite significant, namely the Banner of Development Success in the Sector of Good Government. Meanwhile, East Kutai Regency succeeded in achieving the banner of success in plantation development. It should be noted that East Kutai Regency has an oil palm plantation area of 480 thousand hectares. Around 80 thousand are plasma plantations, around 22 thousand are smallholder plantations. Meanwhile, the City of Balikpapan managed to achieve 17 Success Banners and the only Regency/City in East Kalimantan that managed to achieve the most Success Banners.
