UGM FTP Senate Working Visit to Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province
Located in the Regional Police meeting room, Mrs. Charmarijaty, Secretary of the Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan together with the Heads of Planning Divisions and Functional Positions received a visit from the Senate of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) Gajah Mada University (UGM) as many as sixteen people, Wednesday (12/10/2022).

Disclosed by the head of the group, Prof. Dr. Umar Santoso, M.Sc. This visit aims to establish friendship and explore the possibility of cooperation between the Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan with the UGM Faculty of Agricultural Technology.

On this occasion FTP UGM presented several superior research presented by Mrs. Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Rahajoe, M.Sc, especially on superior studies concerning agricultural technology, agroindustry development, food process food manufacture, and several collaborations that have been established.

Regarding agricultural technology, this is done by implementing smart farming in the rice business cluster. further explained, smart farming uses weather sensors, applications for farmers, development of a GPS-based tracking system to evaluate the effectiveness of land cultivation using four-wheeled tractors, as well as modernizing irrigation.

For agro-industry, FTP UGM is carrying out Smart Integrated Soybean Agroindustry, with the development of an agro-industry of functional food products from local tempeh. The products produced are instant tempeh, canned tempeh, tempeh chips and brownies. Then for food processes, implementing glucomannan extraction technology in food products such as porang processing, as well as developing Starter Culture for Halal Yogurt-like which contains probiotics.

Speaking of collaboration, FTP UGM has collaborated with various countries, and partnered with several companies and Ministries in Indonesia such as the Regional Government, PT Kalbe, PT. LNK and others, as well as research collaborations with Ghen University Belgium, University of Cadiz Spain and Jircas Japan.

At the end of the meeting Prof. Umar said that after this there would be follow-up in the form of cooperation from the Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan with FTP UGM.
