Workshop Plan Planning for Peatland Land Use in East Kalimantan
Thursday, 02/06/2022. East Kalimantan Province Bappeda was represented by the Sub -Division of Natural Resources and the Environment attending the Peat Land Modeling Plan Workshop in East Kalimantan as one of the bilateral technical cooperation activities of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the German Federal Republic of the Republic of Germany regarding Peatland Management and Rehabilition carried out by GIZ Propeat. The workshop was held by Bengkirai meeting room, Faculty of Forestry Unmul.

Peatlands store the same carbon reserves as other forests but their existence is often forgotten. This workshop will also help find economic exchange rates in protecting peatlands and biodiversity. There will be plans in the future in the form of a remodeling land use in East Kalimantan.

As for several types of models, namely: mathematic based models, agent based models (number of business actors, local population growth, agricultural commodity prices, etc.) and Problem: Few Details, Large Area Monitors; Much Details, Small Area Monitor. FCPF-CF uses a combined sampling (combined sampling), the results of remote sensing and satellite survey. Tools used for intensive carbon gauges include stem diameter, root ultrasound, tree sap measurement, meteorological data, branch measurement, etc. According to the research pyramid it would be better if the data obtained was more then clarified with knowledge.
