In order to strengthen the role of workers in a fair energy transition, the Head of East Kalimantan Bappeda, Yusliando, was a guest speaker at a workshop organized by the National Executive Council Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (Den KSPI) and Confederation of Trade Unions throughout Indonesia (KSBSI). He stressed the importance of collaboration between stakeholders, especially groups of business people and trade unions, to ensure that transitions can run as expected.

In a fair transition, Yusliando highlighted four important points: the need for a transparent planning process, preparation of workers to enter a new business field, social protection for affected workers, and increase the number of formal workers. For information, in the near future the East Kalimantan Provincial Government will form a regional consultation forum to accelerate this process. Yusliando also provides hope to KSPI to inventory the aspirations of affected workers, provide input for equitable transitions, and represent workers in the consultation forum that will be formed. He stressed the importance of UPSKILLING AND COMPLIGINE WORKERS to be able to adapt to the more sustainable manufacturing sector.
