Resource Person for FGD Stakeholder Mapping for a Just Energy Transition
Samarinda, (19/09/2023). The Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, through the Head of the Economic and Natural Resources Division, Mr. Wahyu Gatut Purboyo, was a resource person in a series of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) events for Mapping Stakeholders for a Just Energy Transition organized by the Mitra Hijau Foundation (YMH) at the Harris Samarinda Hotel.

The FGD which was attended by various stakeholders consisting of government, academics, NGOs, religious organizations and other development partners aims to increase knowledge and support for climate change issues, energy transition and renewable energy to various parties who will be affected by Just Energy Transition (JET) activities or the energy transition that is taking place. justice in East Kalimantan.

On this occasion, Mr. Wahyu Gatut Purboyo representing the Head of the East Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda delivered a presentation regarding "East Kalimantan Province's Readiness in Welcoming the Just Energy Transition Program".

"In the last 5 decades, East Kalimantan has made a big contribution to the national economy. In the future after oil and gas and mining, East Kalimantan still wants to play a big role in the national economy through economic transformation," said the Head of the Economy and Natural Resources Division in front of all FGD participants.

It was further stated that in welcoming the Just Energy Transition Program, the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, through its vision of East Kalimantan's economic transformation, will develop derivative industries from the plantation, food crop, fishery, mining, tourism development and other value-added industries and implement this through a development strategy for industrial areas which include the Maloy Special Economic Zone Batuta Trans Kalimantan (SEZ MBTK), Kariangau Industrial Zone (KIK) and Buluminung, wood industry, shipping, as well as the tourism destination sector in East Kalimantan.
In the FGD, there were 2 other speakers, including Mr. Dicky Edwin Hindarto as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mitra Hijau Foundation (YMH) who presented the "Just Energy Transition or Just Transition Program" and Dr.M. Rinda Sandayani Karhab., S.Hut., M.Si as the Stakeholder Mapping Study Team who presented the results of the "Regional Public Opinion Survey of East Kalimantan Province Regarding a Just Energy Transition".
