The Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda in his speech said that the JIGD coordination meeting is routinely held every year in East Kalimantan with the aim of coordinating, coaching, sharing information, and synchronizing policies between stakeholders managing geospatial data and information in the region, as mandated in Governor Regulation Number 41 of 2016 concerning Implementation of One Data One Map. Apart from that, this JIGD Coordination Meeting was also carried out as a mandate of Governor Regulation Number 48 of 2021 concerning One Data for East Kalimantan, where BAPPEDA has the obligation to provide guidance on the implementation of geospatial data in the region.
It was further stated that based on the results of the 2023 Data Forum, currently East Kalimantan has 220 types of Thematic Geospatial Information (IGT) that can be used, ranging from general ones such as IGTs related to Regional Spatial Planning, to specific ones such as IGTs related to High Conservation Value (HCV) areas. Most recently, the preparation of the East Kalimantan Province RTRW for 2023-2042 has also used geospatial data available on the KSP and JIGD portals. In the future, it is believed that the use of geospatial data will be increasingly needed in the preparation of documents for the 2025-2045 Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD) and the 2025-2029 Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD), especially in formulating regional policy direction.
-
Ending his speech, he hoped that the implementation of the 2023 JIGD Coordination Meeting which was part of the Bontang Innovation and Geospatial Festival (BIG FEST) could run smoothly and provide maximum benefits for the future development of East Kalimantan.
-
The opening of the coordination meeting ended with the signing of the MoU and PKS with BIG and will continue tomorrow (Tuesday, 29 August 2023) with a presentation of the progress of JIGD development in each Regency/City, the obstacles faced along with future development plans based on a review of 5 (five) aspects, namely policy, institutions, infrastructure and technology, human resources, and standardization data so that it is hoped that in the future the JIGD in East Kalimantan Province can be interconnected with all district/city JIGDs to provide usefulness and efficiency in assisting the policy formulation process.
