Opening of Regency/City Jigd Coordination Meeting in East Kalimantan in 2023

Samarinda, (08/28/2023). Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province held a Regional Geospatial Information Network Coordination Meeting (JIGD) in East Kalimantan Regency/City in 2023 which was assembled in the Bontang Innovation and Geospatial Festival (Bigfest) activity in the Bontang Mayor's Office Hall.

In the series of activities carried out from 28 to 30 August 2023, Deputy Mayor of Bontang, Mrs. Najirah opened officially before all stakeholders which included Deputy for Geospatial Information Infrastructure, Geospatial Information Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Bappeda Province Regencies/cities throughout East Kalimantan, PPIIG elements of Mulawarman University, Provincial and Regency/City Development Partners in East Kalimantan, as well as elements of district/city jigd management present.

Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province in his remarks said that the JIGD coordination meeting was routinely held every year in East Kalimantan with the aim of coordinating, coaching, sharing information, and synchronizing policies between stakeholders of data management and geospatial information in the regions, as mandated in the Governor Regulation Number 41 of 2016 concerning the ONE DATA ONE MAP. In addition, the JIGD Coordination Meeting was also carried out as a mandate of Governor Regulation No. 48 of 2021 concerning one data of East Kalimantan, where Bappeda has an obligation to provide guidance on geospatial data in the regions.

In the future, the use of geospatial data is also believed to be increasingly needed in the preparation of regional long-term development plan documents (RPJPD) in 2025-2045 and the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) in 2025-2029, especially in the formulation of the direction of regional policy.
