Preparation of Regional Action Plans (RAD) for Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs) for 2024-2029

Samarinda, (10/10/2023). The Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province attended Public Discussion I "Preparation of Regional Action Plans (RAD) for Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs) for 2024-2029" at the Mercure Samarinda Hotel.

The event began with remarks from Mr. Yusliando as Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province. In his speech, Mr. Yusliando stated that the Regional Action Plan (RAD) stipulated in East Kalimantan Governor Regulation No. 79 of 2019 has entered its final year, so the next period's RAD TPB/SDGs need to be implemented in an integrated manner with the RPJMD (Regional Medium Term Development Plan) indicator targets. "Public Discussion I Preparation of the Regional Development Action Plan for Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs for 2024-2029 is a mandate from Presidential Decree Number 111 of 2022 concerning achieving the goals of implementing sustainable development, so that regional governments at the provincial level must prepare a five-year Regional Action Plan (RAD) TPB/SDGs with the Regent/Mayor in their respective regions by involving community organizations, philanthropists, business actors, academics and other related parties,".

The first public discussion this year was held online and offline which was attended and opened by Mrs. Sri Wahyuni ​​as Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province. The public discussion participants who attended included related OPDs, Assistants for Government and People's Welfare, economics and General Affairs of the East Kalimantan Regional Secretariat, Chair of the East Kalimantan CSR Forum, Academic Leaders, philanthropists, companies in the mining, industrial, oil and gas, manufacturing, palm oil plantations and forestry sectors as well as leaders of the East Kalimantan mass media.

In the public discussion event, four speakers were presented, including Mr. Rahman Kurniawan as the SDG's National Secretariat explaining the involvement of parties in the preparation and achievement of the TPB/SDGs, Ms. Yusniar Juliana as the head of BPS (Central Statistics Agency) for East Kalimantan, discussing the importance of quality statistical data in supporting East Kalimantan's SDGs Achievements, Mr. Rustam from the SDGs Center LP2M Unmul discussed the effectiveness of TPB data in evaluating the performance of regional apparatus, Mrs. Rahmina as an East Kalimantan SDGs expert who discussed the steps that must be taken in preparing to achieve the TPB/SDGs and Mr. Edy Cahyadi, M.Eng. as a TPB/SDgs application developer expert who explained the procedures for filling in data forms for preparing RAD TPB/SDgs using the Application.

For your information, the aim of the TPB/SDGs is development that involves world leaders and stakeholders as a whole which includes 17 goals and 169 indicators, namely maintaining continuous improvement in the economic welfare of the community, maintaining the sustainability of the social life of the community, the quality of the environment and development that guarantees justice and the implementation of governance that maintains the improvement of the quality of life for the next generations. TPB/SDGs emphasize the principle of no one left behind or no one is left behind in terms of fulfilling human rights, overcoming poverty, including vulnerable groups and those with disabilities.

According to Mrs. Yusniar Juliana as head of BPS East Kalimantan Province, based on BPS data on the social pillar, East Kalimantan needs acceleration or acceleration in overcoming poverty levels, maternal mortality rates (MMR), health facilities and the proportion of women in managerial positions. Meanwhile, the economic pillars include the open unemployment rate and the Gini index. Then, in the environmental pillar: Law and Governance, it is necessary to accelerate clean drinking water services, access to decent housing and registration of births of children under 5 years in civil registration.

It is hoped that this initial public discussion can produce an effective RAD for achieving TAP/SDGs as a design in formulating regional strategic issues for the preparation of the RPJPD/RPJMD documents for East Kalimantan Province.
