The highlight of East Kalimantan's 59th anniversary
Samarinda-HUT Kaltim. Giving awards by awarding banners of success in various areas of development to 
Regency/City Governments throughout East Kalimantan by the Governor of East Kalimantan, DR.H Awang Faroek Ishak on the peak day of the 59th Anniversary of East Kalimantan Province 2016 at GOR Sempaja Samarinda, Monday 11/01/2016. A total of 51 development success banners are awarded every year to districts/cities that have excelled in providing the best innovation for their respective regions.
This banner of success is to motivate district and city governments to better develop the region, both in infrastructure, environment, tourism, education, health and social and sports development in a sustainable manner.
The Governor of East Kalimantan advised that by awarding the banner of success to Regency/City Governments throughout East Kalimantan, it can provide more motivation in increasing development towards a prosperous society and for Regency/City Governments that have not yet received a banner of success, they can improve their performance in increasing development and improving basic infrastructure in the context of services to the community.
As thanksgiving to God Almighty, the next event on Monday evening was held at a reception in commemoration of the 59th anniversary of East Kalimantan Province at the Convention Hall building, Madya Sempaja Stadium Complex, Samarinda and was enlivened by dances typical of East Kalimantan culture and entertained by a well-known local artist from Palangkara, Central Kalimantan, Ramlie and the national artist, Indonesian music diva, Krisdayanti.
Meanwhile, the event on Sunday evening, 10/01/2016 at the Convention Hall Building, was held, namely the 2016 Kaltim Award, namely the awarding of awards and trophies to second and third ranked districts/cities after the banner of success.
