Coordination Meeting to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in East Kalimantan Province
Samarinda (06/05/2024), In order to take strategic steps to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates in East Kalimantan Province, Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province together with the regional government have held a Coordination Meeting for Coordination and Convergence. This event was held in the Propeda Meeting Room of the East Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda Office and was attended by various agencies related to the East Kalimantan Provincial Government.
The meeting was attended by the Social Service, Horticultural Food Crops Service, Health Service, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service, as well as the Public Works, Management Service, discussing coordination in strengthening the roles and functions of cross-sectors in the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS). One of the important points discussed was the results of mapping sub-activities that support the acceleration of stunting reduction.
This coordination meeting was motivated by the regional government's commitment to reducing the stunting rate to below 14% in accordance with the mandate of the central government in an effort to improve community welfare.
In implementing the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction, there are 8 Convergence Actions carried out including, situation analysis, preparation of activity plans, stunting consultations, regent/mayor regulations to accelerate stunting reduction, coaching of actors and village/district governments, stunting data management system, stunting measurement and publication, as well as annual performance reviews.
Apart from that, the discussion also discussed the role of the PUPR Department which is directed at providing clean water and drinking water services in areas prone to stunting, as well as improving sanitation service infrastructure.
To strengthen the strategy to accelerate stunting reduction, discussions about field visits are also an important part. This was done to address the target results of implementing stunting reduction at the city and district levels more directly and effectively.
This coordination meeting confirmed the serious commitment of the East Kalimantan regional government in overcoming the stunting problem, by mobilizing various sectors to work together to make the Accelerated Stunting Reduction program a success.
