Discussion Meeting of the Progress of the Acceleration of Maloy Port Development

This meeting was organized by the Implementing Team of the Committee for the Provision of Infrastructure, and was opened by Mr. Djoko Wibowo as Representative of Deputy for Regional Development Coordination and Spatial Planning.

The purpose of this meeting is to evaluate the implementation of the construction of the Maloy Special Economic Zone Port (KEK) in East Kalimantan which is one of the national strategic projects at Perpres No. 56 of 2018 concerning the Acceleration of the Implementation of PSN.

But now it has not been operational because it has not been conducted by a ship -ranking test by the Sangkulirang UPP which is planned to be carried out in 2020.

For the 17.5 km area access road, it has been completed by the Ministry of PUPR, and the electricity network facility by PLN. Whereas for the completion of the approach road from the office to the 400 meter long -term planning, the East Kalimantan Transportation Agency will be carried out in 2021.
Currently the KPPIP team assesses the progress of the project for the port and infrastructure supporting the Maloy KEK, is considered to have been completed. However, to accelerate the operation of the KEK Maloy area, the KPPIP team suggested that there is a need for a regional development strategy by the Regional Government to overcome the problems and accessibility to the KEK Maloy area in order to attract investors.
