Simultaneous General Election and Pilkada Preparation Meeting in 2024
Tuesday, 01/03/2022. Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province through the Government and Human Development Sector took part in the 2024 Simultaneous Election and Regional Head Election Preparation Coordination Meeting held by the Ministry of Home Affairs via Zoom Meeting. The 2024 Simultaneous Elections to elect the President and Vice President, DPR RI, DPD RI, Provincial DPRD and Regency/City DPRD will be held on February 14 2024. Meanwhile for the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada elect the Governor and Deputy Governor, Regent and Deputy Regent, and Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be held on November 27 2024.
The meeting which was attended by more than 700 participants presented two speakers, namely Dr. Sugeng Hariyono as Plt. Director General of Regional Development and Dr. Horas Maurits Panjaitan, M.Ec.Dev as Director of Regional Financial Implementation and Accountability.
Dr. Sugeng Hariyono conveyed things that need attention ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in the Regional Development Planning Document, namely:
- Preparation of Regional Development Plan Documents for 2023-2026 and Regional Apparatus Strategic Plans to pay attention to programs related to National Unity and Political affairs as regulated in Minister of Home Affairs Decree 050-5889 of 2021;
- It is necessary to prepare a roadmap regarding preparations for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections and Pilkada so that a common understanding can be created regarding preparations for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections;
- Regional Governments must continue to play an active role in paying attention to the references issued by the Central Government regarding Pilkada and reporting actual conditions in the regions;
- For regions that prepare the 2023-2026 RPD, they must use the classification, codification and nomenclature of Regional Development and Financial Planning in accordance with the Minister of Home Affairs Decree 050-5889/2021
Dr. Horas Maurits Panjaitan, M.Ec.Dev as Plh. The Director General of Regional Financial Development said that funding for election activities for governors, regents and mayors comes from the APBD. In the event that the Regional Government will carry out simultaneous regional elections in 2024, it can form a reserve fund with regional head regulations in accordance with statutory provisions. In PERMENDAGRI 54 YEAR 2019 Article 2 Paragraph 3 states that in the event that funding cannot be borne within 1 (one) budget year, the Regional Government can establish a reserve fund
