Provincial Development Strategy East Kalimantan which is interconnected with the IKN Development Plan
Plt. Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province, Mr. Yusliando, was a resource person on the topic "Development Strategy for East Kalimantan Province which is connected to the National Capital City Development Plan (IKN)" at the Samarinda Archdiocese working meeting held at the Samarinda Archdiocese Hall, Tuesday (08/08/2018). 11/2022).

In a working meeting attended by Pastors, Sisters, Brothers, representatives of Congregations/Tarekats, Commissions, Foundations and Categorical Groups working in Regency/City areas in East Kalimantan Province (except Berau Regency), Mr. Yusliando explained the Economic Development Strategy in the IKN and East Kalimantan Areas through Collaboration of 3 Cities, including the City of Samarinda, Balikpapan, and the Capital of the Archipelago through Diversification and Creation of New Economic Sectors as well as the application of Industrial Development Principles, namely: Sustainable, Green, and Technologically Advanced.

It was further stated that there are several hopes for East Kalimantan Province with the transfer of IKN, including: Sustainable economic development in the area around IKN will increase, the people of East Kalimantan will get good job opportunities in the future. IKN construction and typing are already operational, the quality of education, health and the living environment in East Kalimantan has improved, and infrastructure in East Kalimantan has improved along with the transfer of IKN.
