Minister of Home Affairs Gamawan Fauzi assessed that the inauguration of the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan went well, solemnly and smoothly. Apart from that, Gamawan expressed his joy at the enthusiasm of the people to attend the inauguration.

Remarks from the Minister of Home Affairs, Gamawan Fauzi, said that the inauguration of the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan was the ending point for the development of East Kalimantan over the past five years (2008 – 2013 period) as well as the starting point for implementing the development of East Kalimantan for the next five years. future (2013 – 2018 period). It is hoped that future development implementation will receive greater support from districts/cities and all levels of society/stakeholders as well as entrepreneurs to participate in realizing better and cleaner government.

According to him, the development achievements of the East Kalimantan Governor and Deputy Governor's administration for the 2008 – 2013 period were quite encouraging. Among them, several indicators place the human development index (HDI) at 76.2 percent, far above the national average of only 72.7 percent. However, it cannot be denied that there are still development problems that must be resolved.

“In the future, PR Kaltim will realize equitable development. Not only focused on developing an economy based on non-renewable natural resources. "But developing other potentials, including the community economy such as SMEs, so that it is balanced," he said.

The targets as stated in the vision and mission for the development of East Kalimantan must be realized. For example, opening job opportunities, alleviating poverty, improving the quality of education and declaring East Kalimantan Green must be realized.

Meanwhile, regarding the realization of a clean government, he suggested that all elements of government utilize representatives of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) in the regions to provide input in the process of making policies to avoid mistakes.

“All stakeholders are asked to provide active participation and support in implementing the vision and mission with proportional criticism,”

Meeting after the inauguration, Governor Faroek said this showed that the democratic party had been successful.
“Determined that East Kalimantan must be even better in the future. "This is an expression of gratitude to the people who have been given the mandate to continue leading East Kalimantan," he said.

The priority for development remains road infrastructure. These include the construction of the Trans Kalimantan road, toll roads, the Balang Island bridge, electricity and drinking water which will be completed in the first and second years of government. This includes solving various basic problems such as providing employment opportunities, alleviating poverty and developing underdeveloped, border and inland areas.

“We will also continue to carry out agricultural development to contribute to national food security. "We have 470 thousand hectares of land for food and rice estates which can be used to develop various superior agricultural commodities," he admitted.
